Diversion
What is a Diversion?
The Diversion program is intended for individuals facing minor offences who have mental health or substance abuse issues. The goal is to divert away from the traditional criminal justice system and into supportive treatment and services. Participants in Diversion programs agree to engage in specific rehabilitation activities such as counselling or substance abuse treatment. Successful completion of the program may result in participants avoiding a criminal record and supporting their recovery and reintegration into the community.
